I got a Tiny Tach (from Tiny Tach on line) it's a little digital display and is very simple to install. I put mine on in about 10 minutes. It works great but is not illuminated. Cost about $50.00 if I remember correctly.

Try playing with the pickup placement. Mine is rock steady.

They're definitely not the same ones. I'd vote ISSPRO's for best. The one I have uses a crank sensor for the pickup, no calibration required, rock steady and accurate.

I have a 2 inch isspro and it works great. Don't know any details on it though it was there when I bought the truck.

Is there not one that hooks up to the factory harness? I thought I had heard of one?

ISSPRO has one that hooks up to the factory harness. Some have said you need the adaptor kit, others say it is a waste of time. I think who ever you buy the tach from should have the adaptor kit of your choice in stock. I know guys who have the ISSPRO adaptor, and it works just fine. It wont work without it in my 92. Not sure it will work WITH it, but it definitely wont work without it.
