They make them for the CTD's. Check this out and tell me what you think:www.sporttruckdirect.com. Check out the billet ultra filter.

Don't get one! There is no way that can filter as well as even a standard paper filter. It's just steel mesh - a little better than the suction screen on the oil pickup down in the pan. If you want to spend extra money on oil filters, buy Fleetguard Stratopores or Donaldson ELF's.

We ran similar filters in aircraft engines, they filtered ok and allowed you to inspect for metal when cleaning. I wouldn't run one without running a by pass filter system also. Actually for a hundred bucks you can buy 17 fleetguard filters, at 3000 miles each you can go 50000 miles before break even assuming you dont have to buy gaskets for it. Then you have the solvent to clean it and the mess. I would pass on it. Looks nice though.

BK, you can use any oil filter for a 5.9 Cummins 89-2006 on your 89 Cummins. www.scheiddiesel.com for the cheapest price on Fleetguard oil filters.

The micron rating should tell you what you want to know , the good filters are in the single digits 2-7 I think. 2 being the dual by pass systems like amsoil , one of the best ways to go , except the cost of the remote adapter.
