Removed heat exchanger now what??!!
Alright guys after figuring out my tranny temps were 250 plus most of the time, I removed the heat exchanger and I put a 6 row tranny cooler in it's place. I put the cooler up front but now either the temps are worse or not much different. What's the deal? Should I put another cooler in line with the stock cooler? Please any help!

Bridging 2 coolers is always better.
Run it through the heat exchanger first, then through your auxiliary, then back to your trans. While you are in there plumbing, might even want to add an inexpensive filter two.

Where is your gauge sensor located? I recently installed a flexalite w0" by 20" by 3/4" cooler to replace my stock cooler and left my heat exchanger in place. Around town the temps never changed but when I pulled a load up hwy 29 to clear lake (for you local guys) the cooler worked great. Oh yeah the new cooler was directly infront of the radiator

if in fact your gauge is reading correctly and you are seeing temps of 250 just driving around you have have some problems. Like 91 1st gen said check and make sure the gauge is correct.
