Recall #605 VE injection pump
Has any one had any luck getting this done in the last couple of years?
I phoned Dodge and they said that recalls are VIN related so even if your pump doesn't have the infinity symbol you are SOL.
They also said that recalls only last 10 yrs so this has long since expired... Always thought a recall was a recall
Here's the Recall if any one is interested

Thanks, I PM'ed thebigbully to ask how he went about it.
Dealership said they can't and won't do it, can't do recalls on vehicles older then 2000. They would need to get authorized from head quarters.
I placed a call into a recall at Transport Canada, waiting to hear back

In that thread he goes through about the same, but when it is pointed out that safety recalls never expire, he got a new pump...Mark

I tried telling dodge that on the phone, she replied in a snarky voice "Recalls are only valid for 10 years" is there anything else I can help you with today?
Just read that whole thread, I enter my VIN number into the Dodge and Chrysler recall site and it says no recalls exist. Yet my pump has no infinity symbol, it is a reman pump and no symbol on the reman plate either

I have a outstanding PM to THEBIGBULLY to how he did it. Using either of the sites listed produces the same result "no recalls"
I also sent Dodge a email so I have something in writing, we'll see what they say

Pm sent.
I live outside a tiny little town with the Dodge dealership being the only big business there.
Head mechanic vouched for me as I had walked in with just the pump in my hand. The area manager said I could have taken it off of another truck.
Same western area manager will be dealing with you if you fall into the category with everything matching up so you are eligible for a new pump.
Contact this manger and fill him in.
It was totally painless for me.
(or maybe being an extra large retired paratrooper worked as well )

So far its been a complete run around, doesn't help that the local dealer is next to useless either.
(maybe I'll have to start going and talking to them in person, being a 6 and a half foot over-grown hairy construction worker might help me too )

My date code is 167 so that checks out as well
Do you have a number for the area manager or his name?

Reading that one key line I would not give you one if I was dodge it is now on the Reman company. I highly doubt dodge put on a reman under warranty and anything after the time should have been upgraded. My 2cents on the issue.
