Is this reasonable?

I might have come to a point of having to sell my Dodge. I'm not 100% sure yet. I'm in the middle of selling/buying a few houses and might be forced into it. With fuel well over $3.00 a gallon my commute might be going from 4 miles to over 40 miles to work.

Anyway, on to the point of the thread. Here's the specs of my truck:

1992 Club Cab 4x4. 142k, auto with 3k on a full rebuild. Have receipts/documents that date back to 1999 on what has been replaced/maintained/upgraded on the truck. Full R134 replacement with the A/C and all parts replaced (about $900 worth).

Pretty much all the little things have been replaced. It's a solid truck. New CD player, CB..all options. Full power/everything works great.

The only mods are the BHAF (still have the stock box to go with the truck) and I straight piped it. No pump mods.

The truck is straight, never wrecked. The paint is in great shape with no rust but the top of the hood and cab are faded and need attention.

Would it be out of line to ask $7000 for a truck like this? I honestly don't want to sell as I do love the truck. It's my tow rig for my toys but I might in a situation of not using the truck more than once or twice a year rather than a few times a month (as well as going from a daily driver to being parked). It would be sad to see it sit so much and pretty much rot.

I don't have any great pics (I can get more) but here is one to give you a idea of the shape it's in.

I know some score super deals (I wish I could have!) but is this reasonable to ask? Thanks for the help...and I hope this doesn't happen but if it does, it'll be up for sale soon.

I don't think thats unreasonable to ask, personally I would ask 8000 for it and let someone haggle me down to 7000, 4 years ago I bought my grey 93 for $7250 with just over 200k on it.

I agree with JD, always start higher than what you'd actually take. What part of the country plays a big role in price as well. One thing though with these trucks, don't expect to get back the money you have in them. The only person that is gonna pay for that is you. That said, I'll start the bidding at.... lol jk

Thanks guys. I'm in Oregon...it seems trucks keep their value pretty high around here (no rust to deal with) and diesel seems to be the main trucks wanted.

Your right, starting at 8k might work better since I can have some play room. Thanks again!

Go with what JD said 8000 is not alot for a first gen in that good of shape. First gens are getting rare in real good shape and are making a come back I think.
