Radio
I bought a 92 ctd the other day, it didnt have a radio in it, i have a radio out of a 98 ctd, it plugs up right, but i can't get it to come on, will this radio work for this year model truck?

There is a wire going to the supply side plug (I forget if it's the grey or black), I think it's pink or pink with a tracer. See if it's getting power. If not, that is why your "new" radio wont work. Had that issue in my old 91.
Any flat-faced Chrysler radio will work in our trucks.

So the 98 radio went right in?
Our 91 had a AM/FM factory and it wouldn't come on so i swapped in a radio out of a 90 i found in the boneyard, It was an AM/FM cass. and it worked.
I guess the old radios just went bad internally.
I have a book on all the stereos offered in 92 and they even offered a under-the-dash CD player. And they also had special infinity sound systems, but i think only Super LE trucks got them

The 91 AM/FM cassette for the LE was actually made by Alpine; I found this out when I needed a new capstan belt. This was, surprisingly, the only problem that I had with the head unit even after 538k; the door speakers, however, left something to be desired. XPLOD 6x9 polycones made for a good, cheap, Wallyworld replacement. Never had problems with the stationaries in the B pillars.

I got a AM/FM/CD player from a 2000 dodge van and plugged it right in. Controls worked great & it took maybe 30 mins to do. I think any of the 2-plug units will work & are relatively cheap. They also have nice big buttons etc. for us "older" farts.

Guys will ones with the 3rd white 2 prong little plug work? I am pretty sure its for steering wheel controls but I have never had a chance to try one with the 3rd plug! Crossy I have never seen one with the factory cd option. Have you? That would be rarer than the tach!

This is exactly what I needed!!! I need some better music but putting anything non stock appearing in my truck in my neighborhood means it will be stolen... Thats why the center caps are gone off my truck... Had a set stolen of the Valiant wasn't gonna let em take the ones for my truck. Im still leery about putting gauges in the truck just have them stolen too...
