They'd be more likely to collapse than wear.
The bushings compress in the assembly, so the new bushings, along with the old sleeve, could get you a spec by measuring carefully.
I have seen some that weren't "crushed", but were decidedly junk from corrosion on the outer diameter, so if the sleeve is relatively straight and the ends aren't obviously mangled, you could use it as a guide.

You can also look for small diameter stainless tubing at a hydraulic shop. That would solve any corrosion issues. We have plenty of it in Army aviation units. Attached is a pic of what I'm talking about.

I guess I should clarify about the tubing pic I posted. I confused another topic and thought y'all were talking about the bushings that attach the intercooler to the vertical portion of the core support. But at the same time, you can find much larger diameter stainless tubing for practically any bushing insert you can think of.
