Quick EGT ?

I would think so. I thought I had a pic of it installed, but can't seem to find it now. The HVAC blanket thing was what it was getting close to. I'm sure it was sagging a little, the upper inside screw is torn out like most 1st gen's I have run accross.
That is the main reason I went that way, cheaper and easier to come by DP's.

I got the idea when I saw the pic in the thread.

the GDS 60mm made quite a difference for me whenever towing. Unfortunately I belch a big cloud until the turbo spools good enough to do its job, but when I have to downshift to 4th while towing 12K lbs or more, I never go beyond 1,100 egts. If I'm lighter with the right foot, I can control the smoke. One major difference in your setup is the injectors: more air, cooler air whether provided by a different turbo - he351 perhaps - and'or a better intercooler?

I don't think I have a pic, but here it is w/ a nonWG housing.
Proram showed me how to put the 2nd gen exhaust on.

The 6 blade is little more efficient at higher pressures, IIRC. They require machining the backing plate for the bigger exducer, or O.D. of the wheel. HTT sells/ sold them, they might be able to get one. I ran the 8 blade and it was fine. I doubt you will have a problem breaking the shaft. The HX40, where the 60mm wheel comes from does have some shaft beakage issues. It is due to the bigger turbine though.
When we got the '96 it had an H1C, and you could bark it really bad by jumping off the throttle, it had been ran that way for a long time. (The PO was pretty hard on it.) The turbo is still OK.

The 7 blade is the latest out - it's got extended tips etc...
With my 5" exhaust pipe intake tube the whistle at anything above idle is enough to get neighborhood dogs attention up to 2 blocks away
But, surprisingly, on the hiway it's not bad....
Maybe it's just too high to hear

I'd been watching eBay for about 6 mos when it showed up.
At first I wasn't interested even though it was listed for $100 because it had an HX50 flange and was only slightly smaller than the 18cm exhaust on my H1C. But as I thought about it and checked into an adapter for the flange I decided to watch it.
I set myself a price of $250 because I figured the problems fitting it plus the cost of the flange should be added in.
One day before the end I placed my bid and even though there were 5 other bids - the others didn't outbid me....Go figure..
It has been sufficient for me up 'til this point. That's not to say it's perfect for my setup but it's better than the H1C - even with a compressor upgrade. It spools noticeably faster and definitely flows more air plus the egt's are lower.
Would I like a better one - sure. Can I justify getting a better one - not right now. Will I get a better one ( or two ) - sometime in the future but not this year.
