question about turbo noise on 1st gens?
Does the turbo sound better through the exhaust expecially when letting off the skinny pedal caused by the larger exhaust housing? I 3rd gen guy kinda miss the noise from my 91 that i had. later

No I have an 03 so it just had a muffler which is gone and all. I just have 5" all the way back with the stacks being 5 inch too. I think the exhaust housing is bigger on the 1st gen and it just sounds like that. Kinda how the exhaust sounds better on 12v I think because of the injection pressure being so much lower on 12v's than common rail. I don't know I'm just gibbering. later

The pilot injection event(s) on 3rd gens has more than anything to do with the sound out the tailpipe. A 3rd gen with a p-pump sounds just like an old 12v.
