Question on A-518 Trans.
I am sitting here a work thinking about the '91 reg. cab 4x2 Dad bought. (slow day today) I do not know much about auto trans. but maybe someone can inform me.
We are thinking about turning the '91 into a pulling truck just for local pulls, nothing like on the professional level.
Question is could you take all the clutch packs out and have one big pack just for 1st gear? Also if it can be done, what is a rough cost?
That and reverse would be the only gears it needed. If we do it, we will put a axle from a 2 ton in the back welded solid to the frame.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Uhm nope wont work, and second better get a 5 point seat belt because your going to need it.
Couple probs i see,
#1 our frames get very brittle if you weld to them, not a good idea,
#2 theres no way your going be able stay in the cab without a suspension.
#3 its also quite possibly highly ileagal to do that.
#4 same engine and tranny even if you could keep it in first gear wont pull any more weight not to mention you can't go but 30.
