Pyrometer install
Do I need anything other than the gauge, thermocouple, and lead wire? When I screw the thermocouple in the manifold does it need to be sealed with something?

I would recommend having some good grade wire on hand for the wiring for the gauge power. I wired mine originally with bad wire, and was beating myself over the head for having to re-wire it all over again. Learned my lesson there the hard way

Use some high temp anti sieze of some sort when you install the thermocouple to aid in removal in the future for some reason. Like previously stated use good wire and make good connections to avoid hassles later on. Jethrro

drill and tap the hole in manifold and screw in the thermal couple, using a sealer be waste since temps would burn it out in few minutes. as nuk said only wire you need is for a light and power if it has power, mine has no power to the gauge cept light. On mine if you were hook power to it, it would be fried so read inst.

If you go with autometer make sure you don’t get the bunk meter still on some shelves like I did . The bunk meter assembly comes with a bullet shaped probe. The good one has distinctive steps on the probe. The bunk one will give you bad readings, which is a total waste of money.
I spent time putting it all in, wiring it all correctly then shared my readings here, then found out it was not reading right. Since I've had to call autometer, jump through hoops with the tec telling me everything I might be doing wrong. He tried every trick in the book convincing me to keep it, and then I remembered to tell him about the "bullet shaped probe" end of conversation. That must be the password. He told me to send it back, with explanation. I sent it priority mail with delivery confirmation and now on my second week waiting for the new one. Getting a bit perturbed to say the least especially after spending 300 dollars for boost, pyro, and pillar mount.
