That's great! Hope it goes well. Please let me know what works and doesn't work during the installation. Any photos or pointers would be most appreciated. I am hoping to get mine done next week sometime. The coupler in our 91 was replaced about 6 years ago at les schwab. I have the receipt from the previous owner. it is definitely sloppy again and ready for replacement.

Rebuilt the steering coupler today. The body of the coupler that was on the truck was severly worn so I grabbed the one off my spare gear and used it, it was much better shape.
When I was under there I noticed one of the box brackets was loose so we snugged that up too. The steering is much tighter now but still nowhere near as good as my 90.

Thanks for the photos, much appreciated. Couple questions. Did you use a press, vice, heat or anything more than a hammer to remove the original hardened pin and install the new? It seems the wear would occur on the softer 2 collar parts and not the hardened pin. Did you find the hardened pin through the rod had any wear to it? What the heck are the 2 tan colored square shaped items for in the Dorman kit? I am hoping the coupler body itself is not worn out on the inside of mine as I do not have a spare.

Just used a hammer and a drift punch. There was no wear on the pin, I could have reused it but I had a new one so... Not sure what there for they are just cardboard.

So Andrew... I was looking at doing something more than pulling and racing. Big dream of mine was to drive all over the US. Looking at Pirate4x4 for lifts options, bumper options, tires, etc. Got directed to Expo Portal. Searched Cummins there and your build thread appears. Nice! That is all for my useless drivel.

Welp, the 1st major road trip in this unit starts in about an hour or so. Goin to central Wisconsin.
Should be about 1250 miles round trip. And I get to at a state that I've never been to to the traveled list.
