Power windows
Been struggling with this a lot. I have power windows in my 91 they work fine 98% of the time but all of a sudden they will stop working. Luckily this time they quit working while they were up. No blown fuse. Usually after a day they will work again but not the case this time. Any ideas?

I had intermittent issues with my PW for a while....turned out the contact points in the door panel switch were corroded and it got to a point where I could only get them to work if I pushed on the switch "just so". Tossed in a spare set of switches and has been golden ever since.

A number of us have had this problem. Unwrap the black fabric tape ("friction tape") on that bundle of wires between the door and the door jamb. For some reason the wire controlling the driver side window often breaks (causing the window to work only when the two ends of the broken wire are touching). You'll be able to spot it easily. You can repair the break with a butt splice connector and then re-wrap the bundle of wires with friction tape from Home Depot.

The windows and the blower motor are both not working. Read about a fuseable link under the hood hinge. Person before me kind of hacked wiring can’t understand what they are talking about. Can anybody go farther into detail?

Look in the sticky above, there is a great thread about the fusible links. A search of fusible links will yield lots of results...Mark

I thought intermittent window operation was a standard feature on early 90's Dodge pickups and vans.
Usually, it's in the loop of wires in the door hinge area. A butt splice is temporary, though that could be years of normal use. On a keeper truck, I completely replace that harness with more flexible wire, real fine stranding, and tinned. I think it's aviation or marine primary wire.

I had the same problem with mine. It would work fine for several weeks then wouldn't work. I would pull the door panel and smack the motor with a hammer and it would work again for weeks then stop again. I checked all those wires and connections at the switch. Finally replaced the motor and it's been working ever since.
