Power steering pump gear, shaft needed 1990
I need a gear, shaft, bearing assembly for a 1990 cummins non-intercooled, as most have read through my other post "major problems..." my power steering pump melted down and destroyed the shaft. Does anyone know where to find these parts? I need this to get the truck running again. Thanks

The gear has some wear on the front side of it, I could probably run it if I had to. The shaft on the other hand is toast, it has (had) a slot in the end to engage the ps pump, well that is completly melted.

You need to consider the next generation of vacuum pump assy at this point. Unless you find the accessory drive gear and accessory drive shaft (eccentric shaft) dirt cheap used or free. The bearing ($57.83) could probably be bought at a bearing supply for a fraction of the cost from Cummins etc. If I follow you correctly from the other posts you still need the vacuum canisters too? The cost of two remanufactured Cardone vacuum pump canisters@ $240 for both plus the bearing, gear and shaft @ $333.87 you are getting up there in price. The better vac pump assy used or rebuilt can be had for that kind of money.

I purchased one of the vac canisters, but could return it, I also purchase the power steering pump, but could return that if I went with the newer style.

Get the vacuum pump assy and the oil feed line, if the gear is on it too that is great. And like I said, I would replace that pwr steering pump for insurance.
I have one of the newer style here for back up, the vac pump and oil line. It will get a reseal kit from fixinrams before I use it on my truck. The problem you had could have led to really bad things, that bearing could have seized up snapped off something and grenaded the front gear case assy. The next generation vac pump is oil fed not a slinger oiled type or trickler, overall a much, much better unit.

If you get all that stuff all you need is the oil feed line. It'll bolt right in like it was meant to go there.

On a nonIC engine, you will need to trim 2-3" off the bottom of the throttle bracket assembly where it anchors behind the p/s pump. It will be ok without that lower bolt, trust me. Not sure what to tell you about parts store reman pumps- I have had marginal luck with them, to say the least.
You can get the hose made at a hydraulic hose shop. It wont be as snazzy or cool looking, but it is way cheaper than OEM. The end going into the vacuum pump needs to be a 45deg elbow for clearance reasons.
You can get the seal/ "rebuild" kit from Cummins for <$10. I have the part number stashed somewhere and if I come across it, and remember that y'all need it, I'll post it. That's alot of "ifs" though, so dont hold your breath.
