I made an outline of the gasket on the 12cm flange with my trusty Sharpie, then used a die grinder to open the housing up to the sharpie lines. Then I just tried to make the transition as smooth as I could without removing a bunch of material. An inexperienced hand (like me) can do a lot more damage than good when porting, so I took it easy. I definitely noticed a difference in spool up, though, so I didn't do all bad

What you're doing is helping the exhaust gases to exit the head/manifold and enter the exhaust housing faster. This is a benefit and about the only thing you need to watch is that you don't over do the smoothing of the exhaust housing inlet walls and don't touch the center web.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. since i'm buying a new gasket I'll used the old one as a template held on to each part with stove bolts. This being patience and doin bombs in logical order is killing me
