Poly cab / body mounts

I want to replace my cab mounts and can only find kits for years up to 1985. So are they just mistaken and they will work up to 93 model year, or are the mounts different?

Has anyone used the 85 model year kit on a newer 93?

thanks, Aaron

This is something I will be needing to address soon myself. Since I am rebuilding a 1985 I can take a look at the mounts on that and the 1992 parts truck I have and compare for you...maybe even grab some pictures. I should know by this eve if that will help.

That would be great if you could compare the two bodies/mounts. I can't imagine that they are different but I guess you never know.

Thanks

I contacted the two major manufactures out there. Neither one makes it specifically for out trucks, they suggested to measure the old ones and maybe they could piece one together...problem is mine are all worn out so I cant measure...

Yeah I came across your old thread about it and I think thats everyone's problem. Otherwise we wouldn't be looking to replace them!

I got "Prothane" urethane cab mounts for my CrewCab from JC Whitney. Don't recall the price.

Your crew cab was what year? Probably earlier than 1985? Also how many cab mounts does it have?

The truck is an '85, 4 cab mounts and I am pretty sure that they are the same as the ones on the '91 Reg Cab that the motor came out of. I'll have to double check.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could check on that. Also with the kit do you get the 2 bushings for the core support?

I just went to the JC Whitney web sight and they don't list those for our trucks. Maybe I ordered Ramcharger mounts. I'll have to look through old e-mails and see if I can find order confirmations and part #'s. Either way I've put cab mounts from JCW on 2 CrewCabs and they worked. They did come with core support mounts.

Well both prothane and energy suspension make body mount kits, but they only list them for 1985 model year and earlier. So the question is will the 85 and earlier mounts fit 86 and later trucks?

I just got off of the phone with the local Lithia Dodge parts guy and he said the cab mount part #'s were the same all the way back to '82. Hope this helps.

The only difference I can see is that on the earlier trucks, the bolt goes down through the floor with a nut on the bottom, and on the later trucks, the bolt comes up from the bottom and the nut it afixed to the floor. Other than that, I don't see any difference between the soft parts and spacers from one to the other.
