Piston Cooling Nozzles AKA: "Oil Squirters"
It doesn't seem as though it is a very common problem, but occasionally if the engine is run hard and the oil gets hot enough, the piston cooling nozzles work their way out of their bores in the main bearing webs, and end up in the oil pan. I found two in the pan of the truck I'm driving . . .
I've been half looking for an improved nozzle for a couple years now. Apparently I just needed to look on e-bay for "oil squirters". There's someone making aluminum nozzles & selling them there in sets of six as "cummins piston oil squirters".
Anyway, for anyone doing an overhaul, it might be an option to look into.

Yeah I have no idea. I left all mine in from when I did the motor 2 years ago. I know Cummins changed them from the 89-91 to the 91.5+ motors
