Paint suggestions. Two tone or solid

I'll be painting my truck shortly due to a person hitting my truck in the rear at 35mph while I was at a stop light. I just picked up a new (used) bumper and bed. Now I'm moving on to getting my truck painted. The only bodywork involved will be a small dent where the bed hit the back of the cab. The rest will involve prep work to get ready for the new paint. My question is like the title says.

I'm not very good at posting pictures, but I'm going to try. Hopefully it will work.

Keep the suggestions coming. Thanks.

It looks alot nicer in the pictures. The roof has some surface rust that I sanded down and spray painted over. The paint is pretty much gone off the hood. Due to the wreck the bumper put a 3in. slash in the bed. However, the bed I picked up Monday is dent and rust free. The new bed is a solid dark red color. I kinda like it.

I like it pretty much as it is. It does need a pronounced double pin stripe at the upper white edge for a better border dividing point.

Don't see many like that, do it like it was thats a nice combo. looks like it has a stripe on
the red part, I would see if i could get some of that barbed wire in red and put it just under
the red-white line, but i'm alittle red neck some people say.

It does have orange stripes between the upper red/white. After purchasing the bed and bumper I have $1300 in insurance money to put toward painting the truck. I'm going to do the prep work and take the bumpers, grille, tail lights, mirrors, ect. off before I send it to be painted.

Solid red would be cheaper, but it's up to you whether you like the white stripe or not. I have a solid red truck and really like it like that too though. lol Whatever you decide to do, I would consider having your front fender flares and the body trim (minus the chrome strip) painted red to match. I did my flares and really like how they turned out. They don't look so cheap.

Here's a pic of another first gen I found with painted body trim.

I like the two tone, but I painted mine one single color because it is much easier, and cheaper. Check out my gallery.

I think I might stick with the same color scheme. I'm not looking forward to when it comes time to buy paint and materials.

My truck was originally solid tan ("light champagne") as that's the way it was ordered from the factory by my dad. I replaced the bed due to multiple dents and decided to change to a two-tone scheme. I like it better as a two-tone.

James is that green, if so thats my favorite combo, i would change mine if my interor was tan but it's gray, i've ben considering the two tone gray/green like this one. I just like pine green metalic for some reason.

Both those trucks are awesome!!! 1stgenfarmboy, your truck is sweet enough as it is! The blue with the champagne is nice, I don't think I've seen that before. I really like the grey/green scheme too. Boy these trucks look GOOD with a nice paint job!
