Paint options

Well, it's a bit down the road yet, but I'd like to start thinking about a new look for the 'ol girl. Here's what I'm thinking so far:

1--keep it white. It's basic and clean looking with the black molding--and it hides everything!

2--White up top with grey below the molding like some later first gens--always liked that look, especially with the red pinstripe.

3--Anybody ever painted one Driftwood? I love that color on a 2nd gen dually, but how about a 1st gen?

4--Another 2nd gen color that I LOVE, but again...on a first gen? Love to see one---how about Patriot Blue?

Well, let's hear it!

I thought you could use a poll, so I took the liberty of adding one.

I think Patriot Blue would look awesome! I have always loved that color.

My truck is the same color/trim as yours(just a club cab). My thought was to do black below the trim line, probably some sort of textured box liner paint actually. I get a lot of rock chips down there from the gravel roads.

But If I was to repaint the whole truck I'd probably go with either a dark blue or black.

Thanks for all the comments, and thanks for the poll, Dave Patriot Blue is one seriously bold color, but if everyone here thinks a first gen could get away with it, that might just be the way to go.

I'm thinking white with gray bedliner coating under the wide black belt. Some decent wheels and mudders ... WHOOO-DOGGIE !!!

Have fun with it !!

I'd love some agressive looking meats, but this is a 99% highway truck. I'm stepping to a 255-85-16 for the next set, but that's as big as I'll go. I've always liked the grey bottom paint. I've got my eye on a 42 ****** for offroad detail....

Total restore

I am doing a total restoration on my 90 I was going to two tone it white with silver but with all the mouldings on the fenders and doors it is a good place for dirt and salt to get trapped be hind so I am going to leave it plain white. We had my girlfriends 91 LE repainted 7 years ago Factory Grey and red even though it hardley gets driven (58 miles last year) its starting to get crappy around the moulding again. So its plain white for me. There is a patriot blue 93 in the next town over from me I have been trying to buy thats been setting for 3 years it looks great on the 1st gens.

Patriot blue got my vote, its certainly eye catching, and awesome on older trucks! Im in the process of deciding what to do with the paint on mine as well. im stuck between the factory white and something else. Im toying with the thought of black dually fenders with something to match them, but unsure.
