Paint!

What kind of paint jobs have you guys done to your rigs??? I love my truck but HATE White, especially solid white. I was thinking of custom paint, maybe something mild, maybe something wild. What have you guys done to your 1st gens???

I had mine painted metallic black cherry about a year and a half ago. It's a beautiful colour when it's shined up but it does show the dirt. The paint job itself was done half-asked howver when I have more money set aside I'd possibly like to get it redone by someone else in more detail.

Same here, though it's been repainted.

If you hadn't piled the dirt so high it would be hidden.

My truck is being restored and and will be re-painted in solid white, had to get the roof fixed due to rust.
Mine has been de-moulded and de-emblemed, will be using the standard chrome bumpers.

I think there are many choices for paint schemes - which depends on your own style. Like others, I have a white D350 (See gallery). I recently did the paint on it and it came out nice (and I like white). I stuck with white because I have seen many trucks painted another color besides the original - it has always bothered me to see the paint change at the door jamb. But that is a personal opinion...

Wish the best in finding a scheme that fits you! Be sure to post pictures when you do it. I would like to see any before/after.

I'm getting my truck vinyl wrapped a few months ago.

I'll tell you how it looks after I get it done.

Kind of ironic that you say that you "HATE" white, and then the only people who respond have white trucks?

Nonetheless, I don't think that you offended anybody. I HATE any color that isn't red, black, chrome or any of those awesome shades that AMC's came in.

(Maybe I can get my truck vinyl wrapped in this color. What'd ya'll think about that?)

I think I'm gonna be ill.

That has gotta be one of the ugliest things AMC ever made. A purple Gremlin with gold stripes? They thought THAT would be the best thing to put in their ad? It's no wonder they went out of business.
