what does the old smokey pin do? Does it just allow more fuel to be delivered? What does it do to MPG? I changed my injectors to 40hp ones and put on a 4" exhaust. Would adding this pin help? Thanks R.

the pin increases the amount of fuel you get when boost comes on. under normal driving where boost stays low it shouldn't effect much in MPG. if you want to make sure it doesn't effect mileage you could always add a "valet switch" do a search and you will quickly figure out what that is. i think the pin have been shown to add 20hp at the wheels on a dyno so yes, it would help.

Shave your own and save a bunch of money. Put all that money into something else, such as turbo or injector upgrade.. or diesel fuel.

I'll second that. Radius the stock one. It wont have quite the power of the 'old smokey pin, but it's a good way to get some instant ponies. I will probably end up with an 'old Smokey pin one of these days because he put so much work into getting it just right, but for now.......

The 40 HP rating is over the stock pin set to the shallow side. Sounds more impressive that way.
