oil pan removal

I pull the trans out when replacing pan then loosen motor mount bolts and raise engine up a few inches to get pickup tube out and pull with the pan. Usually takes 8 hours on a lift with trans jack never did it on the ground might be harder to do that way. If I had to pull engine I would change rear main seal and front crank seal also. It's still a lot of work, did you try tightening the bolts first and are you sure it's not the rear seal leaking?

take the valve cover off and drape it with something so no debris falls. In loosen motor mounts and trans and t case, down pipe off turbo (take off) take hood off swear alot drink beer swear some more swear again at dodge engineers phone local dodge Chrysler dealership ask how much to fix oil pan gasket
Bite toque when they tell you 20 bucks for gasket 980 for labor brink more beer heh heh drink brink at this point drink more beer ,drain oil in motor
swear at dodge and Chrysler engineers and then remember you have a 4x4
and giggle because as bad as you think it is, you have to remember you don't have a 2 wheel drive and in the end you have that feeling it would be easier to pull the motor ..... ummm before you do anything though buy beer

bc847 thanxz for the tip, and the beer tip too that always needed lol, but anyways just got some new tires on the other day and they put the truck on a host and i was able to peak around well they did the tires and it coming from the drivers side of the motor, kinda around the motor mount area or under the power steering pump, cuz that was really oil there so im still fishing for the leak yet...... and thougtht of what it could be in that area?

Most likely it's the vacuum pump, perhaps followed by the gasket that seals the injection pump to the block. The vacuum pump typically leaks right there between the vacuum pump and the power steering pump.
There's a kit to rebuild the vacuum pump, but for what it is, it's over priced. Perhaps those that know the individual part numbers will chime in. . . .
