O/D not working - CPS question
Well I looked at a 93 W350 and when I drove it I noticed the O/D was not working. Looked under the hood and the crankshaft position sensor is missing, if I remember corrected it mounted to the 2 spacers above the crank pully. There is a plug in laying up by the front valve cover that has 3 female connectors in a triangular shape and looks as though it can only go to the CPS.
From what I've read the CPS can affect charging, speedometer, etc but all of that seems to work fine. Is it odd that more isn't affected?
Thanks!

cps will not affect the speedo and they could have an external voltage regulator mounted somewhere to control the charging. No cps will definitely keep it from shifting into od.

Without the CPS the PCM won't field the alternator. If it's charging, an external regulator has been installed. Not stock, but it works.
Odds are good the TPS is also bad/missing. OD can be driven by a pressure switch or even manually, provided it's good in the transmission.
