nv4500 swap issues

I'm in the process of swapping an nv4500 into my 93 club cab 2 wheel drive and i hit a snag. I have a 2nd Gen adapter plate, a 2nd Gen starter and the clutch is a rebuilt south bend dual disc 3600. For some reason my starter is not engaging. It's like its bottoming out. I put a bore scope inside the slave cylinder to see what i could see but it's not the best view. just curious if anyone else has had this issue and how they resolved it. Thank yall in advance

Did you trim the inside frame rail edge near the starter? You need to remove about 3/8" of material to clear the starter. If you didn't then maybe the starter is binding up, since it is not seating properly?
