NV4500 swap advice.

Our offroad shop just traded for a wrecked 1995 Dodge 1 ton 4WD V10 3500 truck. We are getting the rolled chassi minus the motor, so we will have the entire drive line. The truck runs and drives but every window and body panel and interior is trashed.

The front and rear axles, & transfer case are going under our 2001 1/2 ton offroad truck which we are converting to a 4bt cummins.

This leaves the 190,000 mile NV4500, bell housing, clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder for my truck. I will basically be getting it for free which we could then rebuild. Are there enough peices here to do the conversion? Will I need a new trucks starter? I think I would buy a torque king rebuild kit from Quad 4x4, which is expensive but would make the NV4500 almost bullet proof.

Any commnets would be great, thanks!

If you have a 5 speed You can adapt the G-rag bell to fit the 4500 or get the Advanced Adapters bell and use all the stock parts that are on your dodge. To use the newer parts you will need a 2nd gen flywheel housing and starter that you dont have. Then you will need to get a new line for the slave if the hard line wont fit in your truck, You can ge ends that fit the master and slave that adapt it to AN line fittings and have a braided line made for it any size you need. you can get them from ORU and they are for NV4500 to Jeep swaps to conect the slave to the stock jeep master you will need 2 (its the same fitting on your master and slave). I would just swap the bell and your ready to go. Only other mods are to move shifter hole back 6" and make an t-case shifter bracket. heres a pick of the one I made its easy. If you have an auto then you will be better off to find a 205 off of a manual (29-spline input auto has 23- spline) Converting 23 spline to 29 requires some machine work and $400 worth of parts. PM me if you have any more ??? I have done 7 G-rag to 4500 swaps and 1 auto to 4500 swaps.

Also the back up light switch from the G-rag will fit the NV4500 so you can just plug it back in with no mods.
