Normal operating oil pressure?
Not the usual complaint here. At idle my oil pressure is 56 and at rpm it is closer to 95 and peaks out about there.
This normal?
Seems high to me. Is maybe my relief valve set too high? I mean for a performance motor higher oil pressure certainly isn't a bad thing but I mean, it's going to be harder on the hg and I'm guessing this higher pressure is why my oil cooler gaskets are already leaking after only 2 years.

when i first fire mine up in the morning, it runs around 50. but then under normal driving about 40. i think idle its down around 30.... But my trucks also a mess... So take those numbers as you will. I think those numbers are when it was running normally though. right now with it being a POS, it was hitting 80 today under a hard throttle and idling at about 4....

What weight oil are you running?
This would be normal for 50+ weight in the winter time but this sounds kind of high, install a mechanical gauge at the top of the oil filter housing and compare it to your electrical readings,
If it is still high, your relief valve could be sticking.
Excessive high oil pressures is not good, in racing engines it can float out your bearings unless they are pinned.
Also high pressures can rupture your oil filter canister, this has happened to me on Chevy engines with hipo oil pumps.
Hot oil spraying onto your exhaust manifold is never good.

Spec in the book lists 6 psi at idle is minimum. 30 - 80 at running speed.
oil pressure relief valve is set at about 60 - 65 psi.
On mine, pressures are 50 and 80 when cold. 25-30 and 60 when hot.
I suspect your gauge is wrong, or your oil is too thick.

Yesterday I was using a glycerin filled gauge at the oil filter location. Brand new gauge. Today same gauge is reading 34-35 idle and around 75 at rpm.
I have well used rotella t 15-40.
I guess the motor wasn't as warm yesterday as I thought? I don't know.

Normally, though, a 60 lb relief with Rotela oil will run about 80 cold. Perhaps the relief is plugged or set too high.
