No start condition on 4BT, Injector Pump Failure

Hey hows it going I just got my 4BT running in my ranger a few days back and now shes dead. It was running all good for a while then I started it and it ran kindof rough. The next day it wouldn't start.

Observations:
1. Fuel solenoid clicks when key is on
2. Fuel comes out of lift pump in spurts when turning over
3. Fuel comes out of filter in spurts as well
4. Filter was half full when removed
5. When cranking with an injector line cracked, no fuel came out.

I have tried running just a strait line from the lift pump to a can of diesel just incase my fuel lines were leaky even though they are brand new stainless braided stuff.

I have heard of a shutoff switch on the injector pump that would disable is mechanically. I can't see anything that looks like that.

Like I said this thing was running like a top and just started running funny and now it has nothing. I've been searching like crazy to try to figure it out but I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance.

the full fuel screw on the back of the IP there is a small soinoid with one or two wires, that shut down, it can be removed and moved manually to check it, they often fail.

Like I mentioned before, the solenoid clicks when the key turns on. Would it be possible for it to click and still not let fuel through?

IMO, I wouldn't trust a click to mean that the solenoid is still good/working properly

acts more like the shutoff solenoid is sticking.... but is the lift pump pumping air as well? might be a leak in a suction line. check for air bubbles by submerging a hose from outlet side of filter into a bucket of fuel and pumping manually or while cranking.

That's what I would expect because my fuel pickup tube is the stock one with a 1/4 npt coupler welded to the top. It worked great for a while but now she doesn't like it. I'll try both today. Thanks dudes.

I'm with kerryneb, it sounds like an air leak in the suction side to me.
