Newbe question on Boost gauge install
Where is the best place to tie in the a boost gauge to the intake? I have a 92 w200. There is one port that goes into the fuel pump and another just to the rear below the intake. I hooked up to this one and there is no pressure. do I have to clean this out or is it just another accessory mount. I will take a picture when I get home and post. Thanks.

Re:Newbe question on Boost gauge install
Hi there Noobie,
If you're looking for a place to sample boost pressures, you can use the 1/4" NPT fitting on the intake manifold.
It is just below the "intake horn" and slightly to the rear.
It will be a small blind plug with nothing connected or attached to it.
Pull it out, put your compression fitting in, and run the boost line thru the firewall to your guage... good to go...

Re:Newbe question on Boost gauge install
I think Bushy ment intake manifold. There is a pipe plug that can be removed. install your fitting. you wont read boost till you drive the truck, you will get more boost the higher the gear your in. boost is related to the load you have on the engine. ;D enjoy

Re:Newbe question on Boost gauge install
Thanks for the infor. Ihad it hooked up right just not enough RPM to move the gauge in the garage. Looks like it is the origional turbo, boost pressure only going up to 16 psi or so with pyrometer temps to 1000. looks like time to add more fuel or change to a smaller turbo housing.

My buddy and I just purchased boost gauges as well. For some reason, he thinks it's supposed to be hooked up after the turbo.

Is this a 1987 Ford Diesel thing?

What material do you recommend for the hose? Mine did not come with one.

Re:Newbe question on Boost gauge install
The pyro can go before or after the turbo but the boost gauge should go into the availiable hole in the intake manifold. My boost gauge came with a small plastic line for the boost gauge, may be the same used in some mechanical oil pressure gauges.

Please, trust us here... put the pyro before the turbo, in the outlet of the exhaust manifold, on the rear 3 cylinder section.
Does that make sense>???

Bob.
