new spring options

has anyone replaced their springs with aftermarket units for lifts, softer ride, or any other reason at all? what sort of options do i have when looking for different springs? i would like something that rides a little softer but still has good payload capacity. my front springs are totally flat if not slightly inverse. the rear end does sit a little bit lower than the front. i would like the truck to sit more level, and hopefully it would have a slightly softer ride if the front springs had a little give left in them. anyone remember or know what the front springs looked like from the factory? both the dodges i've owned have been over 10 years old and both had basically zero front spring arch.

any input is greatly appreciated, as usual!

Thanks, Karsten.

Sky jacker is the only large company that makes new springs for our trucks, with the cummins. Obviously you can have any spring shop build a set for you. I have a set of skyjacker 2.5" soft ride front springs. I got them for a better ride and to lift the front of the truck up to stock levels. The ride is a little better but don't expect a cadillac ride. I also have rear air bags and they make the ride pretty good and you can adjust your ride height with them.

I have a D350 and found their range of options to be great. I did HD front coils (5716s) and stock rear leafs. Rears rode better than stock (still like a 1ton, but what do you expect?). Fronts gave me a firm ride with 4" height increase over worn out stockers.

Obviously this doesn't apply directly to you, as you're looking for front leafs and 3/4t rears... but they'll customize how you'd like, the prices are very reasonable, and I found the quality exceptional. They even worked to find me a deal on shipping (PA to CO freight for $110.00). I would at least call and talk to John, see what he has to say for you.

We are in the same boat, Jeep. I just got my el-cheapo add a leafs from JC whitney today (I'm on what some would call severe budget restrictions)... I'll let you know how that works out. Not really the pro option, but a hundred bucks for the whole truck ain't bad! We'll just have to see...
