New member, need advice on older truck
Hello everyone, I just picked this up last week. 1976 dodge club cab believe it's a w150. Would this be considered power wagon years? Also looking for some more advice and input on it. Supposedly has orignal 318 in it but with some edelbrock mods. Would what these engine and tranny go for. Heard the older 318 truck motor can bring a good amount. I paid $2000 for truck which I left was a good price consideing the older truck market now. I also picked up a 1993 cummins VE pump twin turbo with it for $1000. Cummins was just taking out of rat rod. I am looking to put the cummins into the 76. Has this been done yet and what modification will I have to do. I plan on upgrading to Dana 60 axles.

Yes, that is a Power Wagon.
Yes, Cummins 12V swaps on them have been done many times.
Read through the 1st Gen forum and you will find several builds that are basically just what you are looking to do.
I would plan on swapping out those axles for a Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear.
Cool looking club cab, it will make a great Cummins conversion platform.
Welcome to DTR.

Ok, yea I am just looking to get as much details as possibly to prepare myself. I have never done a cummins swap before so it will be a learning experience for me and advice. As far as tranny transfer case what do you think I should use. I want to keep it a manual.

Basically it is an almost bolt up swap.
There as several ways to do it so doing some reading and then asking specific questions would help me, as I could write a book on that swap.
The engine bay is basically the same '72-'93 with small changes to some things.
I would also have any of the small parts needed to pull this off.

Things that come to mind quickly are - core supports variations, grilles, turn signals, steering boxes, dash gauges, full time 4x4 and manual hubs are some of the changes over the years.
'80 is a transition year and a bit of a special breed.

That is my favorite 1st gen set up.
Your truck has a '77 grille on it in the pictures.

The Edelbrock parts are worth as much as the whole power unit in my opinion. I'd try to sell the speed parts separately from the long block and transmission. 318's are tough as nails, and were in about every variation of Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler produced in the 70's, meaning they are plentiful. Those 70's PowerWagons are my favorite, looks like you have a good platform to start with.
