New guages EGT high!!!!
Just finished my pyro and boost guage install, 20 psi boost,1200*Pyro
The only mode to this truck is the guages!
Begining to think that I need to figure out how to get and intercooler on this truck be for i do any pump mods!!!!!!!!!
I have a 16cm ex.housing the i was planning to put on next...... will this help the pyro temp and by how much? Ireally wanted to get some more safe hill pulling power out of her
This is with the truck empty! Scared to se what temp the i have been seeing with my car and trailer!
Crussing at 70 egt vary between 700*and 900*
The only time that i sea any black smoke at all is at night when i have my foot in it and the a car behind me.

I believe the 16 housing will help EGT. I would check your tailpipe going over the axle, its prolly smashed to smitherines. Also swish cheese your airbox or do a BHAF(see "bumpytruck" 's picture gallery). You don't have to do the mount, but just the filter will be fine until you can make a rain guard. Your cruising EGT's sound pretty normal maybe a 100 more than mine, but I have a much lighter shorter truck.

Make sure your crossover boot's clamps are tight and no major leaks. The 16 will build boost a little quicker. You should gain about 2.5psi of boost. It won't breath as good as the 18 will on the highway when you are pulling a load. If you use the truck more as a play truck, city driving etc, then I can see the 16 being a benefit on a nonIC'd truck. If you work it and pull trailers etc, you want all the flow you can get to keep things cool when its running 1100* cruising on the highway.

......When under a load will the 16 give me more power and will the 16 make it run clooler(egts) or hotter?

I have been thinking about the hole intercooling prodject and..... well..... it was a cold snowy day today and i could still get my truck to hit 1200*.....so if i had an intercooler in the summer, it wouldn't cool as well as the 30* outside air of today? would it? or am I way off in left field?

An intercooler isn't as good as a cold day, but it is way better than not being intercooled on a hot day.
Before you panic on the EGT, try advancing the timing a little.
The 16 cm will drop your EGT a little by giving you more boost for a given amount of fuel. It's especially helpful at lower RPM.

I thought your egt sounded a little low. Areyou reading pre or post turbo?
I am running 800-900 crusing , no load and intercooled, in any gear, I pass 1300 before I HIT THE GOV. and that is with a stock spring. Maybe I should worry.

Well advanced pump timing to night (Maybe a 1/16) and just of idle performance is better (more responcive) and now my egt are better! 1150*Was as hot as i could get it before it defueled and egt dropped!
Now if only the 16cm will kill a nether 50* or so that i can fill safe with some pump mods!
