New gauges, second guessing...

I installed gauges this weekend, finally (I know, I know). I went with Glowshift, mainly because of the cost. I know there are a lot of pros and cons with them, but first impression is, I like them. They look good and seem to work ok. I like the led and the 270 sweep. I got the egt, 0-60 boost and trans temp. I mounted them on the dash with a universal 3 gauge mount that I trimmed to fit the dash. Today was the first day I drove the truck since the install. I was pulling a 2500 lb. trailer for most of it. Temperature was in the upper 40's and pretty much all flat highway, with traffic lights along the way. The highest egt I saw was 700 briefly under wot pulling the trailer. It mostly stayed around 450-500 towing. Highest trans temp I saw was 155 towing, mostly stayed around 135-140. Now this is what surprised me: The highest boost I saw was 20 lbs. at wot towing. Cruising at 55-60 mph it stayed between 0 and 2 psi. Under half throttle it would go up to 10. Does this seem low with my mods? I added a DennyT pin a few weeks ago, not in my sig yet I don't think. I've been paranoid since turning up my pump that I was cooking the thing but these low numbers make me wonder if I even needed the gauges. My trans sender is in the test port on the passenger's side, and I know that's not the hottest reading but I'm ok with it. The boost line is in the 1/8" plug under the elbow. The pyro is in the exhaust manifold. What do you guys think about these numbers, especially the boost. Lastly I want to thank all you guys who have contributed advice and pictures on the gauge installs. It made the installation go without a hitch.

EGT seems low to me for wide open, towing, at 20 psi boost. I would suspect atleast 850 if its pre turbo temp. Just my guess, maybe someone with similar mods can speek up with there results.

Both EGT and boost readings seem fairly low to me. I pulled a 2,000lbs car hauler a couple of weeks ago. I don't recall the highest EGTs or boost I saw though. I do know that with the mods in my sig, mine easily made 30psi at not even WOT and EGTs were probably 1,100 but I wasn't really watching since it was such a short romp. If I pushed WOT, I can bet she would've seen at least 40psi (It pushes 36-37psi empty at WOT). Cruising readings on flat ground at 65-70mph were 5-7psi and EGTs around 700. Saw, roughly, the same numbers on flat ground when I put a car on the trailer as well. Not sure how much weight it added but it was only a 2008 Honda Civic 4-door. I probably had, at most, 6,000lbs behind me.

my truck when bone stock would only do about 18 psi at 1100* dragging my jeep up hills.

Turning the fuel screw up as far as I can (short screw) got me to 28 psi and 1200* empty

That was my point exactily. He is pushing 20 psi at only 700 degrees. Thats to cool for that boost level I would think. That being said I never had gauges on a truck that only spooled 20 psi. The 89 and 93 are 35 psi and up. I have gauges for the stock 92 so it will be neat to see what those readings are when I get them installed.

Where did the pyro sensor get mounted? Pre or post turbo?

It's mounted in the manifold, to the left of the divider. Could it be that my pyro probe isn't far enough down in the stream and needs to be adjusted down a little? From what it sounds like you guys are saying, my boost number seems ok but my egt is too low (for that amount of boost). I'm only seeing 1 or 2 lbs of boost cruising at 55-60, whether I'm towing or not.

Nope. Everything was installed just like it came out of the box. All the gauges are grounded straight to the battery also. If it helps, my idle temp is 300.

How are you hitting 24 psi and 1100 egt with only a 366 spring? Is that in the motorhome? That I could see. Are these trucks all that much different, even with similar setups? What do I need to do to hit 24 psi and 1100? Big sticks?

When I'm cruising at 65mph at 2300rpm, I floor it hard, it pegs at 2500rpm and hits 24psi and 1100 egt, momentarily, then i let up and it immediately goes back to 65 at around 600 egt.

I have stock injectors, stock turbo and just a stock downpipe. My motorhome iis the recent recipient of a 1993 W250 Cummins engine, 150k miles, and a 1995 2500 47RH transmission.

I could reach 30 psi with my stock intercooled injectors, but the pump was wound as tight as it would go. I don't even remember what my egts were at 30 psi with stock sticks. That was a couple years back and I only drove it that way for a couple weeks before I got the big injectors in.
