NEw Exhaust and wow it sounds totally different

Well I found that my old exhaust had a bunch of rust holes in it.. so I took my truck to a buddies shop and he put in a straight pipe and a nice chrome tip.. well the tip is a little bigger then I expected but oh well

I am totally amazed out the difference of sound after

I hope this link works..

Here is a video link to show what it sounds like

Hey Bruiser do you have the stock 21cm housing?, reason I'm asking is that I have a stock 92 and I have the terrible 21 on there and am looking into a 12 w/g, I want the sound of you truck

Ok question, is it better to run a muffler, the guys at stans said they get better power ratings with their muffler than without one. What do you think now that you're not running one. I'll be putting on my new exhaust this friday, I can always leave off the muffler if its going to run better.

I can not tell a big difference in normal driving... but I can now leave it in 4th longer and not feel like it is bogging down..

So in 1st, 2nd, 3rd no real big difference but 4th does feel like a little more power..

Next I am gonna do the BHAF and then mess with the screws some

Sounds good. I need to figure out some sort of exhaust for mine... I think if I did what you did, with my setup, it'd sound sweet too. With my 12cm housing I can hear the turbo at idle with the stock exhaust, probbaly sound SWEET with it straight piped.

BTW- are you on pirate4x4? Your name and truck sounds familiar.

Gas eng run better w/ a "LITTLE" back pressure!
diesel eng run better or breath better with less back pressure(muffler to no muffer or straight pipe!)

That's what I've read in other places, but I still keep getting different views.

I guess I'll have the muffler installed with the 4" going in on Friday, and then have it pulled and tri it without. See if I can feel any real difference.

Thanks

Rich

(i'm on PBB, by the way)

It all depends, if you go too big like say 5 inch on a mild truck you will loose scavenging, if its too small you will have EGT issues and slower spool up, 4 inch straight should be fine.
