New Dyno #'s & 1/4 mile times

Went to Diesel Thunder this weekend had a good time met some new people made new friends. Got to see some pretty swweet trucks. One that Dyno'd 813hp.

It was my 2nd time on the dyno with the mods in my sig I did 339 HP and 604TQ. I was hoping for a little more in both hp/tq but pretty happy with the numbers. I only had one good run where the tranny didn't downshift into 3rd. I forgot to see what kind of dyno it was but I didn't pull the boost #'s like I did last time on the dyno. I only got to 38psi about 1150 egt. Last time I hit 44psi and just about 1300egt.

There was only 3 1st gen's there and I was the only one to dyno.

They had racing at Spokane Raceway Park that evening. It was the first time for me on the track. I wasn't to sure what to expect. I got in line for time trials and lined up against and fullon Drag truck running a D-max. I was think great the slowest truck against the fastest truck. We got up to the staging light and I was nervous and shaking. I had my 15yr old son in the passenger seat and he was like oh crap. I brought the boost up to about 8psi and left on the last yellow and floored it. Heard the tires chirpping and just held on didn't have time to look at anything. I thought I would see that drag truck just blow by me but I Didn't see him until about half track and he was moving. Made me look like I was standing still. I wasn't sure where the end of the 1/4 mile was so I let off and then I see the timing lights I let off some where just after the 1/8 mile mark OOP's.
Anyway here's my times for the first run against the drag truck and his times.
Mine reaction .53 His 1.14
60ft 1.88 His 1.92
1/8 mile 8.86@76mph his 6.66
1/4 mile 15.06@ 60mph his 10.39 @ 142.24

2nd run 60ft 1.92
1/8 8.36
1/4 14.26 @ 88.91 mph

3rd run 60ft 1.94
1/8 8.41
1/4 14.32 @ 88.91mph

Funny thing was is my tranny wouldn't go into O/D and I was pulling some rpm. I actually was defueling before the end of the 1/4. Watched my boost go from 44psi and just fall flat to nothing before the end. I'll have to figure that one out. Any ideas on not going into O/D ?
Overall had a really fun time and done something I always wanted to do and want to do again.

those are awesome nubmers in the quarter for your truck, i cant wait to get mine on the track, probably since you was wide open throttle it wouldnt let it shift.

Thats it, im getting some 370's. Sounds great though Dlittle. Im thinkin' you would have had better results had they loaded up the dyno better, that could explain why you did not build the boost you wanted. Sounds like you may need a better supply of fuel? Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

Mike

I'm just running the piston pump. I've thought about upgrading the fuel lines but just don't have time right now maybe this winter. I don't have a fuel gauge and have not checked pressure yet.

The dyno numbers are respectable for what you're running.

Check the TPS adjustment.

OH Forgot to mention I finally broke 20mpg on the trip with 3 dyno runs and 3 1/4 mile passes. I wonder what I would have got if I wasn't playing around.

Dana, My truck shifts perfect till I get it on the strip then it will not go into OD by itself. I am running a switch to the trranny to manually engage OD. I just hit the switch at 65 mph and away we go. Great numbers on the rollers and the strip by the way. Hope to make it to one of the events with ya someday.

Some poor Honda civic is gonna mess with you one day and have their world crushed by a "beater old truck".

I love it.

I might have to try the switch trick. Do you remember how you wired it up ? what color wires you tapped into ? Anytime your in the area let me know.

I cant say what color the wires are due to being color blind. My wife had to point out which ones to splice into. Wanna told me which one to do though. My nephew Mark will be up that way to go to the races in September but I wont be able to make it. Maybe we will cross paths somday.

I'd guess that setup should get you close to the 300 mark.
