Need some HX35 advise

So I have been doing a little research and I have found where some people say a 16CM non gated housing on a HX35 gives better top end. I have noticed that my top end has suffered with the stock HX35 compared to my stock H1C even though I am getting 8PSI more peak boost from the HX35. I thought I needed to adjust the fuel and that helped but The top end is still not as good as the H1C. I have the 16CM non gated housing that i got for the H1C because it is smaller that the stock one but I never installed it.

I am wondering if anyone can chime in that may have tried a bigger housing on a HX35 after running the 12cm gated with there observations?

my truck is a 92 club cab dually 2WD 5 speed MT. I have a 4" exhaust, Denny T stage 2 pin, star wheel, smoke screw, and power screw tweaks, Home made cold are with BHAF and the HX35

If you spend most of your time in traffic, you will really miss the 12 cm. It's really the best housing for an intercooled truck with a 5 speed and stock injectors.

Also, it's easy to get the feeling that the top end is off because the truck runs so hard on the bottom end. It's not that the top end is off, it's the same as it was it just feels weak now compared to the way the truck pulls off the bottom.

You need to do the governor spring kit and let it rpm more before defueling. It really helps those trucks.
It isn't a turbo issue unless it is seeing high EGTs.

I'm running a PDRHX35 with a 14wg hot side along with all the other mods and I love this setup. It has excellant performance towing or not towing and egts are well controled - max 950 going up Cabbage Hill in Eastern OR - on the dyno I can see 1450 for less than 10 seconds. You can see my mods and numbers in my sig.

hey-Hey!!!,
I went to an HX35 on my 1990. 16cm non-gated housing on both. The HX35 has it all over the H1C, at any condition. Comes onto boost faster and pulls harder. Power screw still has the tamper-proofing on it... Not touching that 'til I get boost and pyro.
cheers,
Douglas

so If I read this right, you have the 16CM non gated housing on your HX35 and it does well at low and high end? Is your truck an automatic or stick?
