need some help getting started

Well today got my pump back in, and bleed the lines outso fuel was coming out of lines a good bit, closed em up and still no fire! Wat did I forget to do?

hook wires on ksb and shutoff selinoid maybe put pedal to floor to start

Got all wires hooked up is it possible to get the shut off selonid backwards? Also tired using a tad but of starting fluid but not much sounded like she wanted to go but didn't! It sounds like no fuel but I've loosing line up to check and make sure and it still pushing fuel out!!

i had to hold pedal to floor when i put pump on then it sounded like it was going to die until i cracked each ijector open with it running to bleed air out

Push the primer lever on the lift pump??

I'd crack 3 lines again and keep tryin to get the air out.

Yah we've tired hold the throttle open some just not the whole time, crossy are u saying prime it while the lines are open? Cuz I tired pushin the prime buttom for couple mins already thanxz dan

Well went to work on truck this morning after got off work, and still nata I've primed, I cracked em open multpi times had 3 lines open, all closed, 2 open, all closed, all open, all closed and still don't wanna do the "I wanna start" sound any idea wats going on with this? Thanxz dan

Give it a snort of ether. If it won't stay running then you have gotten the key out of the keyway and the pump is now out of time.

Hay wanna do u mean the pump is off on the timing gear or the actually pump is outta timing?

I think you mashed the key and the gear has slipped on the shaft.

That is also my guess.

It is a very easy mistake to make.

The engine stops with the pump-cam under spring-tension on a lobe, wanting to roll on down into the valley.

What happens is the lock-screw is not snugged enough to resist this tendency and the pump-shaft thus moves out coordination to the gear key-way.


Am I making sense ??

Ok just got around to looking @ truck again after long weekend, and wanna, I looked in there using a mirror and a bright lite, the key still in slot on the timing gear, also tired with starting fuild she sounded like it wanted to go but sounded like lack of fuel/low idle, but I was holding the foot pedalall the way to the floor!

And bear I under stand wat ur saying checked that lock screw and its pretty snug

Any other suggestion? The pump ran fine bfor taking out to replace the fulcrum!

Forgot to mention that bfor fuel screw pretty much bottomed out cuz it felt like a fuel issue so I screwed it all the way in
