Need Some Advice

Re:Need Some Advice
One day i had a guy at home depot waiting in the parking lot for me.He offered me $12,000 for the truck. I wasnt interested and declined, but sometimes i wonder if it was a great offer or not. It's 2wd, but i couldnt buy a second gen to replace it for that much (that nice anyways) so i figured i had better hold off.
I pulled an 18 wheel tractor trailor rig out of some mulch the other day. The guy couldnt believe it. His wheels turned sideways and I just dragged it out like a daisy.Nothing beats these trucks.
-Jim-

Bought mine a year and a half ago, paid $8,000 for it. The truck was perfect at the time, not even a scratch in the bed. It had 162,000, new clutch, and not one oil change was over 4,000 according to the org. owner. I believe in you get what you pay for.

Re:Need Some Advice
See what i get going away for the Weekend, getting slammed with replys ;D.

Anyway, there are quite a few 1st Gens around me, only none of them are for sale because there old farm trucks and good luck talking a farmer out of a running truck.

The 91's owner said the Previous owner had some Engine work done to it but he didn't know what was done to it, and i'm new to diesel so i wouldn't have a clue where to even look for mods. I called on the 90 and the guys secretary said she'd have to have him call me back because he knew more about it but he never called me back so i didn't even bother to go down and look at it. 1st Gens around here are not common at all, i know of 3 for sale, 2 of which are Autos, and its a real pain to find that 4x4 5 spd combo.

Re:Need Some Advice
:I've replied before Weg, I stated what my '93 cost, $5200, good truck with 152,000 when I got it. Lift the screwed in metal strip that is at the threshold of both doors. I bet the floors will be wet, rusty or something undesirable, but an easy fix. Use that as another negotiation point. Does the front end make any noise? The bump stop can make a real grinding noise but, all they need is some surface grease. Does all electrical work, most are easy fix, or fuses burnt that may just need replacement. All of these are points of bringing the price down. Get to the table where your going to fill out the paper work, then give them the price YOU want to pay. Be ready to walk away, tell them to call you if THEY have a change of heart. When I walked in and saw my truck I knew I had to have it. Their oringinal price was $6995. I asked give me low dollar. I got them to $5500 in a week. Then after another week or so they finally went to $5200. I think I could have got them lower at the actual paper work stage if I said "I'll offer you.... because I took a month to finally buy the truck. It's that car/truck buying game, play hardball~!
