Need Pic of Throttle Cable/TV Cable
I need a pic of where all the linkage ties together by the intake. My friend's 92 with A518 is missing something that keeps all those cables tight. when the pedal is moved, nothing but the throttle moves until (very hard to put into words here) the adjustable linkage parts bottom out. I think this is causing his down/upshift problem. Anyway, a few pics of how everyone has their cables adjusted and what keeps them tight etc... Thanks a million

OK, the eyelet things (red arrows) are not supposed to slide on the pin (blue arrow) correct? Because I still don't see whats keeping them secured to not let the pin just move around inside of them.
Thank you so much for the pics BC

I feel really dumb now..... Thanks for the help fellas! I guess I was trying to fix something that wasn't broken. Why do they have so much slack in them?

They are intended to slide back and forth inside the slots of each cable.
Such allows the mechanism to be "Set into place immediately, and delayed to return".
The TV cable for example, It's such that when initially moving the throttle open, the TV is moved along with it thus increasing transmission line pressure, etc to accommodate the additional power without slipping, yet not so high so as to have clutches engage with Banging force. Mash the pedal further has the same immediate results.
When releasing the throttle such as coming to a stop, the throttle linkage moves the opposite direction, having that pin now move freely in the slot of the TV cable. As such, the increased transmission line pressures, etc are delayed in lowering so as to eliminate clutch-pack slip, etc, due to the still high winding engine's momentum. . . . sorta.
Make sense?
