so like some of you no i had some troubles with my truck a while back its running fine now but i got a small problem

my old girl needs some body work my floor bed is good but the sides are a bit bad so i got another bed i could put on that has less body work on it so as some of you figure if the bed is in need of work so do the fenders etc

i got a plow now on the old girl so do i rebuild the truck i got the time the tools and a little bit of no how

so heres my questions

1 do i switch the beds or repair the one it has on now
2 is it worth it to put some more money in the old girl
3 what else should i do on it since ill probly remove the bed
4 i spoted a wrecked 92 truck with std tranny i got auto so for 1500$ is it worth it for me to salvage it itgot rolled so no body parts are good on it i
5 if i buy it what is good for me is it has some good springs on it with air bags
6 are the differentials same as mine or ???

see what im asking myself is if i rebuild it I REBUILD IT but i would also like to have something newer with an extended cab

1. Swapping beds is way easier than rust repair.
2. Could you buy a better truck for what it would cost to fix yours? Probably not.
3. Take a good look at the fuel lines and brake lines.
4. If you want a manual trans that is a cost effective way to get one. You could sell the motor out of the wreck and come out ahead.
5. Not sure what you're asking?
6. They may or may not have a different gear ratio, but they would fit your truck too.

Driveshafts are different auto to manual.

I can't really say if, or if not, it is worth it; but, I would jump on a salvageable engine/Getrag wrecked 1st Gen. truck for $1500.

If you want to do an auto to manual swap, everything you need is in the wrecked manual truck.
