Need info on heel bearing adjusting nut.

Need info on wheel bearing adjusting nut.
Getting ready to go on vacation in a couple of months and it's time to clean and repack the front bearings. I will probally do a brake job also, the front pads are down some so why not get it over with.
I'm not sure how the tighting procedure is suppose to go. The manual says to tighten to 27-34N*n while rotating rotor then loosen and then only finger tighten install lock nut on adjusting nut and install cotter pin.
What I'm asking is this right because these a 4000# axles instead of the lighter duty ones or is there a web site that may have some additional info.
If this is wrong please tell me the right way before I get this brake job messed up.

TurboAZ the info from the 92 Chrysler Service Manual says to:
Install the outer wheel bearing, the washer and retaining nut.
Tighten the nut with 41 to 54Nm(30 to 40 ft lbs) while rotating the wheel.
Stop the hub/rotor and loosen the nut to completely release the bearing preload torque. Next, tighten the nut finger tight, instal the nut lock. Install the replacement cotter pin.
Be sure and check your end play with a good dial gauge. You should have .001 to .003 inch endplay. The closer to .001 you get the better.
Install the outer wheel bearing, the washer and retaining nut.

The way I was taught is to tighten the first nut down tight then back it off a 1/4 turn, so basically finger tight then install the lock nut. Never had a problem doing it this way.

Thanks for replys.
Hope to get the bearings repacked and brakes changed out this weekend. A real early start Sat. is in order because its 110+ for the next couple of days and cooling to 105 by the weekend.
