Need help urgently, truck is down, 3 days of elk season left!

It's right on top. Easy off and on. Serp belt is about the only semi-tricky part.

Just be sure to disconnect the battery. If you strike an arc on the big wire, you'll take out a fusible link, even if the ignition switch is off.

Rebuilt usually on the shelf at Oreilly's. $103 + tax + $50 refundable core. Take the old one off and carry it in. It's bad.

All done. $130 at NAPA, and about 30 minutes of my time. Now I can relax and get back to the hunt without having to jump out of the truck every 20 minutes or so and whack on the alternator... thanks!
