Need help with R/C tank install, return and vent line
Ok the tank is in lines are run almost ready to go, just one thing bothering me.
The return line on my truck is the same size as the feed line, 5/16"s. The return port on the R/C tank is much smaller, 1/4"? Also the R/C tank has a vent line. Should I just plug it? If I do how does air get in as the tank empties? Fuel cap?
Was thinking maybe I should run the return line into the vent line and just cap the other line.
What do you guys think?

You have to keep the returns seperate or you will fill one tank off the other. Use the return on the RC tank, it won't be a big restriction.
Like Edwin said, run the vent to the filler neck (near the top). If you just cap it you will have trouble filling the tank due to it getting air locked.
The fuel cap has a one-way valve to let air in.

Thanks for the replies, actually I guess there are really two vent lines, a large one going to the filler neck and a smaller one that on the gasser models went to the charcoal canister.
Your comment about the one way vented cap tells me that it should be ok to plug that charcoal canister vent line.
BTW I used a 6 port swtiching valve so the return fuel always goes back to the tank it came from. Its the Pollak one.
I actually put a bit of fuel in it and tried it today just on a quick trip around town. Seemed to work fine(return line did not blow off) so I think it will be ok. One problem though was that I'm not getting a proper signal from the RC tank's sending unit. It permantly reads 1/3 tank. Going to have to recheck the wiring for it, hope the senders not screwed. Gauge works fine on the stock tank so I know that side of things is ok.
BTW when I filled up diesel was $0.20/liter (CDN) cheaper than gas! I REALLY wanted to fill that new tank up all the way cause I know diesel is going to go up soon as well! However I know if I did then there will be a leak for sure and I'll have to pull it out when its full!
