Need help with DE exhaust part installation
Ok, I bought a section of 4" exhaust pipe from diamond eye to get past the t-case. I cannot get the piece in there. I even unbolted the t-case mount and jacked it up to the cab and I cant get it in there. I also called them and double checked the part number (220101).
How do ya'll get that piece in there???

'92, yea trying to put it in from the rear side.
All the exhaust is off except the down pipe, which is flexible.
The problem is when I get the piece slid in a ways, the rear of the pipe where it kinda "S"'s it hits the frame and seems to point too far towards the passenger side.
I could cut and weld it if I have to but for 80bucks I figured it'd fit in there easier. Theres gotta be something Im not doing rite.

I just put on a DE. I have the same truck as yours
I think that is the right part number.
Keep rotating the pipe - it will fit.
You said that the down tube is flexible
Mine is rigid 4" (from DE)
I had to loosen the v band clamp at the back of the turbo to rotate the down tube.
I won't buy DE again. I had to take the pieces to a muffler shop to have the flared ends opened up so pieces would go together
Cost $10 for each tube ($30 total)
Cheers

I cut 1.5 inches out of my down pipe so it would hug the bell housing.
I also have a 2 inch body lift.
Just because it is new does not make it right.
Maybe you can find a picture of it on DTR or post what you have.
CC frame is not as tall as a 90s truck frame.

Ok, thanks for the input guys
I think it'll fit in if I cut after the bend behind the t-case, then couple it together after I get it in there. Does yours touch the tcase and/or the cross member installed? Looks like mine will. I may have to do like gyman98 did and oval it a little bit.
I'll let ya'll know what comes of it, thanks

I should revise what I said, it should be fairly rigid up close to where it attaches to the engine/turbo, my 4 inch is attached at the bell housing. It should be fairly free hanging as it gets farther from the engine, that is a lot of leverage...Mark

I see what you're saying, thanks for the tip.

I tossed the top brace for the cross member. My home made exhaust clears just fine after that. Why don't you go get some flex pipe from your local truck shop. Four inch stainless is cheap compaired to what you paid.
