With the Getrag you will be lucky to get in the 14's - it's not a trans you can shift in a hurry.

You can pick up a solid 100 HP by playing with the pump.

hehe, nice.

so i gotta couple of questions for you guys now.

-the speedo is in-op. it doesn't work at all most of the time, just sits on zero. but OCCASIONALLY, it'll bounce all over the place. like, 0-100 and back and forth all inbetween...any ideas? i know it's got an electric vss, and all connections appear to be connected.

-the ac blower motor only blows one speed. is it the switch in the dash?

-the ac blower only blows when i'm going down the road. if i'm sitting in traffic the blower stops, then starts again once i'm going about 30mph.

-the hvac box by the passenger feet collects water somehow. like it'll come flowing out if i make a sharp left hand turn. where could the water be coming from? it's clean and clear so i don't think it's related to the heater core.

if i could fix these things with stuff i have around the house (mostly performance sbc stuff, lol so i think i'll have to spend at least a little money) then that would be great.

Pull the VSS off and look at the drive. A lot of times the drive socket gets rounded off causing the problem you are seeing.

No change to blower speed no matter which position, or only one setting works?

I think you have a ground issue there. The blower motor uses the passenger side headlight ground (on top of the core support near the headlight).

Check the drain (bottom of the heater box near the engine). The water is coming in the cowl where the air intake is.
