My EGTs seem low
My pyro is installed post turbo...Yes I know that it would be more accurate installed pre turbo but the PO installed it post.
When I start my truck (cold) the EGTs move up to about 200 degrees. As soon as I start to back out of the driveway the EGTs move to 400 degrees. Driving down the highway at 60 MPH the EGTs are at 500 degrees. If I push it up to 80 the EGTs move to 575-600 degrees. Today I pulled my camper at 55 MPH (17 foot TT) up a 5 mile 10% grade, and I couldn't get the EGTs over 600 degrees. As soon as I crested the hill the EGTs went down to 500 degrees. I have never seen more than 600 degrees doing anything.
I guess this means that I can turn the pump up more...
At this point I have turned the smoke screw in 2 turns, 3200 rpm spring, turned the diaphram/fuel pin to the deepest setting, and turned the fuel screw up 1 turn. The truck is making a lot more power than stock.
Should I spin down the star wheel, I haven't touched it yet. What about advancing the timing? Will that give me more power?

What kind of boost were you seeing going up that grade? Edwin is dead on, there are too many variables to be sure what the temp is before the turbo. Anywhere from 300*-600*f off. All in all, I would say it's about right for a mostly stock non-intercooled truck.
