My average MPG over a 875 mile trip.

I just drove from my house in Katy down to Fuchaun, LA and back. I had to "babysit" a rig. Anyway i kept an eye on the boost gauge and figured if I kept my speed to where I wasnt making more than 3psi boost then there was minimum load on the engine. Most of the trip down I kept it around 63-65mph and got 25.43mpg. On the way back I was tired and cranky and only kept the boost low half the time. I mostly wanted to get home and cruised 70mph the last half of the trip home. The trip home I averaged 24.86mpg. Overall I'm pleased with the mileage, but I will be trying to squeeze about 2 more mpg out of it. The trip down I was running B100 also because it was only $2.8x in north houston.

Those are some great numbers. I decided to buy mom's old Celica for mileage (40 combined, hand calc, gps verified) and I'll drive the truck however I darn well please. I didn't buy a 3-ton cinderblock with wheels for the economy

I was thinking about 5" slash cut stacks, but want a big aux fuel tank so I am going to get a 4" turboback. Plus I want it loud enough for others to hear it, but not too loud inside.

IMHO stacks are quieter cruising than turbo-back but much louder when accelerating.

Awesome MPGs it's nice to know that trucks made in the early 90s get better MPGs than todays trucks. I know trucks today have more power but you look at much diesel cost in 1993 compared to 2008. Kind of backwards. Anyway Congrats to your MPGs

Better MPG - that is one of the reasons why I miss my 92.

I can't get that good since I put my old smokey fuel pin in. I might try turning my starwheel out a turn before going on a 11hr round trip this weekend.
