Question My 93 is over charging

First I am mew to the posting thing so here goes, I have a 85 crew cab that I did a conversion on using a 93..5, it has been pretty much trouble free until 2 months ago and the Alt gauge started going wild , like over to 16 volts , it finally cooked the alternator, and the regulator and replaced both. Now it has been kinda o.k. for the last 2 times I drove it and then last night it started doing it again especially when the intake heater is in and out , I am about to pull what little hair I still have out any suggestions would be appreciated.

The 93 regulator was in the PCM. Did you use that on the conversion, or did you do an external regulator? Mine would act funny with the external regulator if there wasn't a good ground to it. The new regulators you buy are normally painted. You have to scrape all the paint off where it bolts to the body. I ran a wire from mine to the alternator bracket as well for an extra good ground.
