More flex plate questions, Part #'s inside
I just called cummins NW for a 2nd gen flex plate and they had a part # for the flex plate, a part # for a clamping ring??? and a part # for cap screws. I'm assuming the cap screws are for the flexplate to crank bolts, I already have them in the old one in the truck. I don't know what they mean by clamping ring, unless it's the starter ring gear, and I know I'd need the flex plate for sure.
If the clamp ring is the starter ring gear, won't the one off the old one tap right on there after it's heated up a little?? Just trying to make sure I get all the parts I need and not the ones I don't.
Thanks,
Owen

The ring gear is welded to the flex plates. The "clamping ring" goes on top of the flex plate under the cap screws to reinforce the center of the flex plate a little bit.
