Will do, if my KSB is bad, is it something that has to be fixed and will hurt something if I don't? Or will it be okay just to run it the way I have been, and where do I get one, and how much roughly?
Thanks

Won't hurt anything. Just makes smoke. If the problem is wiring or the switch, that will be cheap. The solenoid is expensive. There are several good threads on KSB diagnostics so I won't get into that here.

You didn't look hard enough.

I dunno on the solenoid. Those rarely go out and they are very easy to test.

Guys move on to something else. Who cares about the KSB unless you are on a dyno and are looking for more total advance for big hp #'s. It's not necessary to start the truck, strictly an emissions device.

I'm gonna go with Bill on this one....the KSB has a practical use in terms of cold start/emissions issues for sure, but, it is not really a full time factor when it comes to daily driving....at least for most
BTW, as I understand it, the KSB, when activated, closes off a passage inside the pump and the result is a near doubling of the internal (supply side) pressure, which in turn, effects the timing of the pump getting rid of or reducing smoke.
