Loose bolt behind cam gear
Since the engine is out, figured what a great time to check the KDP. The pin is tight but the bolts holding the cover backing plate we're loose. I put lock tight on the others but this one is going to be tough. The bolt in the pic is totally loose, finger tight, but it won't come out with the gear stopping it.
Any easy way to get the bolt out so it can be cleaned and thread locked?
With the KDP being tight... what... just leave it alone?

back it off all you can wash it down with alcohol to get rid of oil and leave whats exposed absolutely clean and lock tight what you see be liberal with the lock tight then tighten it back up .done

Power Wagon Aero Dynamics
I've been working on my old power wagon making it an extended cab so I'm not cramped up. When I drive my work truck with the window down and the sliding back window cracked open it makes for a pleasurable to drive with the drivers side window down. If the back window is closed the wind dry's my eyes out real quick.
Since they don't make a sliding back window for this truck I was thinking of installing one of these vents. Figured if I installed the vent behind the extended cab window the air would come in the vent and out the drivers side window. Making it nice to drive with the window down.
You all think my thinking is correct on the extra vent? Will it help keep the wind from coming in the drivers side window?

sweet build! i would think that if you could find a window out of a minivan or some kind of van that has one of those pop out windows and get the fram and graphed it in that location you alread have then you wouldn't even have to bother w/ adding the vent maybe? and you've have access to glass that's pretty much readily available instead of a custom piece saving time and money on the install.

Thought it would be an interesting addition to a boring interior.

No laziness and other projects have jumped in front of the McMobile. I recently restored this '68 D100 with a mild built 440. I learned from the McMobil, leave things alone! So that's what I did on this D100, restored what was already there.

Ok I'm trying to get motivated so I bought some BD exhaust valve springs for the Mc Mobile. The new BD spring coil measures .184 OD. While the current exhaust valve spring coil measure .187 OD.
I would think the thicker coil would be a stronger and better spring???
I bought the engine from a wrecking yard. The exhaust manifold was already drilled for a pyrometer and the intake for a boost gage. Maybe the fellow already changed the springs out to run an exhaust brake.
Should I change the springs or leave them alone and get my money back?
Thanks

1st gear low range pulling on something, it'd slowly turn the tires on dry pavement at idle. With the 60 cfm air compressor I carried, it weighed 8500 lbs.
On the springs, if the wire diameter is bigger or the same on the old springs, I'd leave them in. Wire diameter is the biggest determinant for rate. Pre load (free height) is the other major one. Turns, (more is lighter) is another.
Original question was on AC. Did you ever get it put in the power wagon?
